Challenges to empower the Egyptian Woman’s to participate in politicsAn applied study on a sample of female members of the Egyptian parliament

Abstract

The actual political practice of Egyptian women for these rights has been delayed for periods, and although Arab women, and especially Egyptian women, have obtained their political rights, represented in the right to vote and run for membership in parliaments, for a long time, up to more than seven decades in some countries, the research problem focuses On the two issues of empowerment and challenges facing 

women parliamentarians, in addition to the "parliamentary performance of women". None of the previous studies examined the extent to which the challenges of empowering Egyptian women and parliamentary performance reflect their participation in political decision-making. Rather, previous studies focused on studying societies in which parliamentary women succeeded in reaching decision-making positions.

The aim of the research is to identify the challenges facing the empowerment of Egyptian parliamentarians. It belongs to the “descriptive” sociological research, & relied on two methods: the interview guide, the representative, and the content analysis, and reached the most important results: The results of the Research showed that women parliamentarians assumed leadership positions at the head of a parliamentary committee on communications and information technology. She explained the lack of women's empowerment within the council due to the multiplicity of parties and political blocs. And he reached an important recommendation that the constitution and the law must be activated.
