Abstract

This study addresses the correspondence between the primary level students' attitudes towards methods used by teachers in the delivery of knowledge and teaching in schools. The great changes in the various fields of modern life due to the broad flow of information, knowledge and experience through the mechanisms that produce a stimulating and engaging ways, and interaction of many segments of the society including primary schools students, have affected individuals' growth and social normalization. These processes have influenced patterns of behaviour, and evoked students' attitudes towards teaching methods and conducting knowledge. Based on this exposition this study aimed to determine the extent of suitable teaching methods used in Sudanese primary schools from students' and teachers' perspective, the factors affecting the attitudes of primary level students in academic achievement, the achievement of the purposes of education, and the mostly desired procedures for attaining a degree of compatibility and adaptability for the benefit of the educational process. The descriptive approach was used to describe and analyze research data. The study worked to achieve those goals  through a stratified random sample of 96 teachers and students with a size of 480 individuals from 24 schools for girls in Khartoum North Locality, and has reached to a number of conclusions such as: that the urban environment of students shapes their attitudes and builds preferences, whether in the methods of receiving knowledge or in social relations between school groups, there is also an advantage and approval for the learning aids that are brought by the family at home or used in kindergarten over those used in school, and that the means used in teaching  must keep pace with changes in students’ community.
