Countries, regardless of their status or power, seek to emerge as a nation that defends and contributes to the advancement of human rights and children's rights. Perhaps one of the most important human rights is not to expel anyone from their homeland by any means, in addition to trying to show their respect for their obligations under humanitarian conventions that prohibit forced expulsion. In seeking to impose sanctions on those who violate this right, the international community has long worked on the development of instruments prohibiting forced deportation, including international humanitarian law, which criminalizes deportation and forced expulsion.
