Abstract

Social networking sites have made a great development in the history of new media, as they formed a virtual world that opens the way for individuals, gatherings, and organizations of various kinds to freely express their opinions on issues and topics, and exceeded that in influencing the political life of societies, where the recipient has a role in the manufacture and discussion of media content, and has gained These websites have become more popular and the number of their subscribers has increased to become part of the history of political and social change, as they have provided opportunities for political activists and citizens, especially young people, to express their opinions freely to influence the political process and decision-making, The site has turned into a source for the movement of the popular revolutions, especially the Arab ones, and therefore it has been able to link technology with politics, and from here came our research paper with the aim of knowing the role of Facebook in developing youth participation in community issues, especially political awareness of the right of peoples to self-determination, and we came to the conclusion that The Arab youth use this site to develop their political awareness towards issues of the right of peoples to self-determination, especially the Palestinian cause.
