Abstract

Teaching profession, like other professions, needs to develop and improve the skills of its members in order to improve the effectiveness of their performance and carry out their roles to the fullest. Professional development is part of achieving the goals of the educational process. For example, teachers need to renew their knowledge and skills in order to develop students' abilities. Therefore, qualitative professional development programs provide modern knowledge and advanced skills, and ensure their application and integration into classroom activities. In this context, they take into account individual differences between teachers in several aspects according to their professional and qualification experiences. They also pay special attention to the psychological needs of some school members, represented by the desire to support their colleagues and provide them with feedback, and to the need of some teachers to actively participate in developing their schools. On this basis, this paper aims to shed light on the impact of professional development and training for teachers during service, and the extent of its justification in developing human resources in the job. The researcher used the descriptive research design in order to obtain information and scientific materials related to the subject, and the result of the study concluded that the professional development program and its types have a positive impact on developing teachers' achievements during service in the job.
