The terrorist phenomenon, in all its forms and methods, has developed in a more ferocious manner than it was in the past. Terrorist operations were carried out in traditional ways and methods according to the criminal tools available at that time. These operations led to casualties and limited losses in individuals, constructional and industrial objects, and buildings. But with the development of equipment, weapons,
means of technology, and scientific progress in all of these means, they have become carried out in very precise and sophisticated ways, taking advantage of modern technology, and these operations have begun to result in huge losses that are almost equivalent to the losses of regular wars between countries, whether in lives, equipment, property, or installations. The study aimed to explain the concept of terrorism and extremism, clarify the difference between the concept of terrorism and extremism, and identify the reasons that led to the birth of terrorism and extremism. We reached conclusions, including, for example, that terrorism has no religion, no homeland, and no true affiliation to religious beliefs, spiritual values, and human feelings. The Islamic religion, religions, and divine laws are innocent of this heinous criminal terrorist phenomenon. Terrorism is truly the most dangerous enemy facing the world and all of humanity today.
